Fabrication Route

From Drawing to Container — the Process Route and Its Gates

Buyers who audit fabricators usually ask the same question: where can quality escape? The answer is any hand-off between outsourced steps. Dengtai runs the entire route in one 3000 m² plant — drawing intake, CNC cutting, ISO 5817 level C welding, hot-dip galvanizing to ISO 1461, trial assembly, and a photographed record archived for 10 years — so each stage below ends in a hard gate rather than an assumption. Stainless builds at 1.8x (SS304) or 2.5x (SS316) swap the coating gate for grade verification; everything else holds. Rungs carry 1.5 kN each; geometry stays fixed at Φ20 @ 280 mm.

Where Fabrication Budgets Go Wrong

Spec Cuts That Save Pennies and Fail Audits

Every line you delete from a fabrication spec comes back as a site cost — usually with a multiplier. The four cuts we refuse to make, and the verifiable standards that replace each one.

Tempting CutWhy It Fails LaterWhat We Do Instead
"Weld quality per workshop standard"no acceptance criteria — nothing to reject against at inspectionISO 5817 class C written into the contract, with visual and dimensional weld records per order
Galvanizing with no thickness calloutthin zinc passes a glance test and rusts in a fraction of the design lifeHDG to ISO 1461 at 85–100 μm, coating report in the compliance file
Skip the trial assemblya misaligned bolt hole at 6 m height costs a site crew a full dayevery ladder trial-assembled at the factory before it is packed
Steel bought on price, not heatuntraceable material is an uninsurable, unsellable assetEN 10204 3.1 MTC tied to your heat numbers, archived with loading photos for 10 years

If your current supplier's quote is thinner than ours, ask which of these four lines went missing — that is where the difference lives.

Cage Ladder Fabrication FAQ

Can you handle OEM cage ladder fabrication?
Yes. We run a factory-direct OEM service with 14 welding stations, two production lines and CNC cutting. Flexible MOQs and batch pricing — send your drawing for a free review.
What does your cage ladder fabrication scope include?
Full in-house process: CNC cutting, ISO 5817 C welding, hot-dip galvanizing to ISO 1461, and pre-assembly. Components ship with a DoC per batch.
What is the lead time for cage ladder fabrication?
Typically 15–25 working days after drawing approval, with expedited scheduling available within the 15–25 working-day window.
Do you offer volume pricing for fabrication batches?
Yes — itemized volume pricing for OEM and distributor batches, with MTC 3.1 and structural calcs included at no extra cost.
Which stages gate the release of a fabrication batch, and what exactly is checked at each of the five QC gates?
Five gates run in sequence: MTC 3.1 mill certificates on incoming steel, weld inspection to ISO 5817 level C on every joint, ISO 1461 coating verification at 85–100 μm after the zinc kettle, trial assembly of the full shipment, and photographed records archived for 10 years. A batch only ships once all five signatures are in the file.
Can we supply our own fabrication drawings, or do you need to redraw everything to your standards before cutting starts?
Manufacture follows your drawing — PDF or DWG. The free pre-quote review maps your dimensions against the fixed geometry (Φ20 mm rungs at 280 mm centres, 500 mm clear width, Φ700 mm cage from 40×5 hoops at ≤1500 mm centres with 30×3 straps, cage self-starting at 2.2 m) and flags any clash before material is cut.
We need SS316 fabrication for a marine outfall — how does the route change versus the standard HDG line, and what does it cost?
Cutting and welding follow the same route, but the ISO 1461 galvanizing gate is replaced by material grade verification against the MTC 3.1 certificates, since stainless carries no coating. SS316 runs 2.5x the hot-dip galvanized price (SS304 is 1.8x), and both remain fully in-house.
How does trial assembly work for a knock-down shipment, and what do the archived photos show our site team before the container arrives?
Every shipment is assembled start to finish at the factory before packing, confirming rung alignment, cage hoop orientation and bracket positions. The photographed record — archived 10 years — shows your crew exactly how the modules orient, so rigging plans and wall-bracket layout can be prepared before the container is even opened.
