Before — a scaffold tower behind the building
Twelve rooftop HVAC units meant monthly filter changes, and no permanent roof access at all. The maintenance contractor was permitted a scaffold tower that lived behind the dock — wheel it out, climb it, pray the wind stayed under 20 mph. The eave-side ladder measured 5.6 m — under 24 ft, so OSHA asks for no cage at all: guardrails and a self-closing gate at the top do the job. The parapet-side climb ran 7.9 m, over the line for a new install, so it carries a vertical ladder safety system — rail, slider, and each technician's own full-body harness. Two different rules, two different builds, one drawing package, both HDG to ISO 1461 with MTC 3.1 files.
